POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an exceptional Business Intelligence Analyst to hit the ground running in our Business Intelligence Services division. This position can be based in Boston, MA or NYC and requires up to 25% travel between these two locations. The Senior BI Business Analyst will lead consulting engagements providing benchmarking and resourcing solutions to a number of leading investment management companies. Experience leading BI projects, involving data management solutions within financial services (specifically investment management) along with solid project management experience would be ideal.
DEMONSTRABLE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Deep hands-on experience in data warehousing, data modeling, performance tuning, etc
- Experience working on the front-lines with customers and navigating through tough situations
- Leading the creation of a solution for the customers that works for them but is also a solid solution all around
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or other technical discipline preferred
- MBA or MA/MS degree in a related field a plus
- 3 - 5+ years of relevant experience within Business Intelligence involving large amounts of data
- Experience working within the financial industry or familiarity with investment management terminology and concepts highly preferable
- Experience or exposure to data warehousing, data modeling, performance tuning, etc (preferably with SQL 2008, SQL Denali, Vertica, Greenplum, Teradate, and/or Netezza)
- Experience working on the front-lines with customers and navigating through tough situations
- Experience creating solutions for the customers that not only work but are also solid solutions all around
- Experience working on discrete, time sensitive projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative problem-solving ability and a collaborative, consultancy mindset
- Able to work well independently and within a team
- Highly motivated, driven, and dynamic
- Passionate about work and personal life
- CPA, Lean, Six Sigma, PMP or other relevant certifications a plus; desire to pursue certifications a plus
