POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a creative individual with substantial experience in quantitative research in the investment arena. The Quant Business Analyst will focus on two primary areas: (1) translating low-level business needs of clients’ CIO/Head of Research/Quant Research Analysts, in a very clear and descriptive manner to the Advanti product team, consisting of software and database developers, and (2) helping to develop the product road map for a ground-breaking Advanti platform, helping quants abstract away the mechanics of preparing data for analysis thereby helping them to focus on the fun part of the business, developing models!

DEMONSTRABLE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Quantitative portfolio construction/management process, and it's involvement in the investment lifecycle across the front- to back-office
  • Quantitative research methods: backtesting, factor modeling, time-series, cross-sectional analysis, simulations, optimization, etc
  • Major asset classes including: equities, fixed income, derivatives, currencies, futures, alternatives, with a primary focus on equities.
  • "How to use" quantitative research data: historical security master, corporate actions, pricing, earnings, fundamentals, performance, holdings, etc
  • Financial/data products: Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ, Thomson Reuters, Compustat, Worldscope, IBES, QFS, Datastream, etc
  • Proficiency in development using: Matlab or R; SQL Server or Oracle; C# or Java
  • Desired educational background in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Math, Physics (MS or PhD is a plus)
